The Goodnight Sun Tshirt design by Made With Awesome features a humanized sun as it rest in a blanket of stars above a farm landscape. The underside of the blanket is a blue sky with puffy white clouds. The planetary mobile along with an hour glass and a toy rocket ship represent the rest of time and space. The sun’s rays double as hair. A farm representing earth  is located at the bottom as the foot of the bed frame.

Few designs capture childlike imagination and wonder like this one. This little  tired guy has to get up in the morning and shine light and rain two scoops of raisins on everything in its gravitational pull.

The title is probably a take on the ever popular children’s book Goodnight Moon written by Margaret Wise Brown. The Starry Night painting by Vincent Van Gogh  in the background is a nice touch.

The colors are complimentary and offer high contrast. The use of the fabric color as that if the fabric of space is appropriate as is the way the wall clock, nightstands seem to gravitate and hover in that space. There is some highlighting on the inside of the blanket reflecting the sun’s glow which shows attention to detail. Good thing the the  fabric of space and time is heat resistant.

Depictions of the sun with a face has been around for centuries if not even longer. It has been used on flags, coins and is often called the Sun of May. Probably predating that is  used in Masonic symbols, Monty Python, and cereal. This just happens to be one of if not the coolest representation of a personified sun yet.

The Goodnight Sun tee design is ideal for a general audience. Those who are into astronomy and myths may particularly favor its whimsical style.
