The Never Say Die! T-Shirt design features the gang from The Goonies in a cartoon parody of The Peanuts Gang. The awesome thing about this design is that it includes Sloth in Peanuts style too!
The Goonies was one of the best movies to ever come out of the 80′s! Perhaps that’s just my opinion, but I can quote the movie word for word. What is even better than that though, is that it is one of those movies that never gets boring. The excitement, joy, good will, understanding, tolerance and even the idea of the underdog winning in such an outrageous fashion combined great ideas from older movies while cutting a path for movies to come.
The quote on the tee is from this scene in the movie…
However, this is a great collection of scenes as well so I thought I would share…
As any fan of the movie remembers, the group of kids manage to free the ship of One-Eyed Willy, but not escape with treasure, until! Mikey finds just enough tucked away in the pouch to save the homes. The Fratelli’s get what is coming to them and Sloth ends up happy with Chunk. What a great movie.
The design! Okay, so to get one thing out of the way quickly, it is very noticeable that the designer logo is IN the design. That bothers me to an unreal extent for a couple of reasons, but this will be said simply. Unless you are buying from a site that is obviously known for featuring their name in the design and it is their own design, or a design created for that site, sneaking it in seems rather distasteful! It seems like you should be paid to advertise, not pay to advertise for someone. The logo could have easily been placed underneath the design, not inside of and distracting from the design. That is why this design is getting a low rating, because the design itself is not bad at all. The artist has managed to make each character obvious, which would be difficult to do when creating peanut style cartoons from real people. Mikey has his inhaler, Chunk is doing the Truffle Shuffle, Data is complete with the messy hair and his belt of gadgets, Mouth is doing what he does best, and Sloth looks sweet and scary at the same time. Other than the logo, this is a pretty good design. If that is something that does not bother you, then this would be a great shirt.
