The Sheldons Green Lantern Jersey T-Shirt is like the Green Lantern jersey tee worn by Dr. Sheldon Cooper on the popular CBS comedy, The Big Bang Theory.
Sheldon Cooper (played by Jim Parsons) is a Theoretical Physicist on the award winning CBS series The Big Bang Theory. As any fan of the show knows, Sheldon may lack a lot of things, like social skills, an understanding of sarcasm, a sense of humor, a tolerance for disorganization and general compassion for others. One of the many things that Dr. Sheldon Cooper does not lack is the love of comic books. As it is often made clear on the series Sheldon knows far more than the average fan of comic books about damn near any comic book title.
Sheldon is often seen wearing tees with the Green Lantern logo on The Big Bang Theory, as well as other comic book hero logos. The Green Lantern was created by Bill Finger (Writer) and Martin Nodell (Artist) in All-American Comics in 1940.
‘Each Green Lantern possesses a power ring and power lantern that gives the user great control over the physical world as long as the wielder has sufficient willpower and strength to wield it. The ring is one of the most powerful weapons in the universe and can be very dangerous. While the ring of the Golden Age Green Lantern (Alan Scott) is magically powered, the rings worn by all subsequent Lanterns are technological creations of the Guardians of the Universe, who granted such rings to worthy candidates. These individuals made up the intergalactic police force known as the Green Lantern Corps.’~Wikipedia.
After World War II sales of comic books declined so the Green Lantern was discontinued until 1959 when DC assigned John Broome (writer) and Gil Kane (artist) to bring back The Green Lantern. Okay, so this is a T-Shirt review, not a comic book review and I honestly do not want to insult anyone by stating anything that I do not know to be correct, so I will continue about the shirt.
Well, it is a tee that features the Green Lantern logo. There is nothing to be said about the design itself because it is the actual logo and no criticism can or will be made. 80s Tee’s does also offer other Green Lantern tees, one that is not a jersey tee, and another that is distressed for that worn, vintage look.
