The Lights Of The Night T-Shirt design by Moncheng shows a mixture of two different types of nature. In the foreground silhouettes of animals stop and gaze upon a beautiful, colorful, chaotic sky complete with shooting stars.
It is not often that I find myself looking at an event of disorder in regards to space, even if it is fiction, without a sense of dread in the pit of my stomach, but this design somehow restores a bit of calm in the midst of an otherwise frightful scenario.
The blackness of the silhouettes offer a shadowing effect. The small details on the tree branches and leaves along with the blades of grass give a very realistic view as opposed to some bulkiness that you often find in silhouetted work. The birds look to be confused, yet calm at the same time, as one is perched and the other is mid-flight, but obviously startled. The deer are gathered, posed more as if curious than afraid. This gives the impression that the animals are confused, but too enchanted by the beauty of the night sky above to do anything but gaze.
The sky itself is a different scene entirely. It looks as if 2 worlds are about to collide and there is an amazing light show happening above. The mixture of vivid colors being streaked by the bright meteorites adds a feeling of excitement. What is even more beautiful than the colors and even the shooting stars is the planet that is so subtle, yet rounded so perfectly with the mixture of pinks and grays that it is also very unmistakable.
Also on the design there are marks that look as if it has all been created on a fading tapestry. Perhaps insuring that the scene is indeed someones fantasy, or giving a dream-like feel to the tee.
This is a very beautiful piece of art that those who love nature and science would enjoy.
