The Eternal Embrace T-shirt design by Derek Myers features a couple’s skeletons locked in a touching life moment throughout death.

A couple was discovered in an archaeological dig near Mantova, Italy. Nobody knows how they died, only that they’ve been in this embrace for over 5,000 years, an icon of eternal love.”~ Enclothe

Pompeii comes to mind, how the inhabitants were preserved in ash during their final moments as if flash frozen.  They were caught off guard and had no idea of their demise until it was too late.

This design seems to suggest something even creepier and yet sweet at the same time. The lovers who shared a similar fate seem to know their fate and choose to spend their last moments accepting that fact and instead of wasting time with fear and regrets, they chose to appreciate each other. They who did not die alone are together forever in death. At least until some jerk with a shovel came along.

The pose and shading, are done with perfection serving as a fitting monument. The composition and layout are unique in concept and perspectives. Both visually and philosophically. Seeing the couple as they appear horizontally in the ground from a birds eye view flipped upright for a vertical presentation actually works. There is enough contrast to see what is going on and yet leave the couple with a shred of dignity.

For the goths and hopeless romantics, the Eternal Embrace T-shirt design shows us that there is beauty even in death.
