The Take This! T-shirt design by Jerry Nowlin features an artistic reinterpretation of Link’s view as he receives his sword from a wise man in the “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.” scene.
From the early days of gaming on the original Nintendo Entertainment System, this is a gaming moment that every Legend of Zelda fan remembers fondly. It is where the epic quest begins and when the player as “Link” begins the journey into manhood in order to save the Princess Zelda and restore balance to the kingdom of Hyrule and the powerful Triforce. All while keeping the remaining Triforce pieces away from the clutches of evil, namely Ganondorf.
For many, this was more immersive than any other role-playing games available including the non video game Dungeons and Dragons which was the first commercial RPG. This scenes where the player gets the starter sword and upgrades was the ultimate feeling of a false sense achievement.
The twin fires are appropriate tribute and trait for video game graphics which save on file size. The key difference is that here they are mirrored.
The Triforce insignia in the background is a nice touch that was not featured in the original game scene.
This is another must have T-shirt for any Zelda fan.
